St. Pius V Day One

Today was our first day working at St. Pius V school. We started our day by meeting with Nancy Nasko who showed around the school a little bit.
After that we went down to the cafeteria and helped clean out and organize a large closet/pantry. We put in a lot of hard work and had fun doing it as well! When we were finished the students were starting to eat lunch so we socialized with them.
The people working in the kitchen made us an AMAZING authentic Mexican lunch. It puts all other Mexican food to shame, at least in my opinion. We then served in the soup kitchen and met some really nice people. They were so thankful for us being there; it was really touching.
Later this afternoon we helped tutor the students at St. Pius V. Each of us worked with an individual student or small group of students until 4:30. We walked back to the St. Adalbert's and relaxed for a bit, then we all took the L to downtown Chicago for deep dish pizza and some shopping.
After we got back, a group of us played a game and we all sat around and laughed for a while.
All in all it was a great day! We can't wait to start tutoring during the school day tomorrow!
